The second rule of my three-rule blogging mantra is carve out your niche.

But how do you do it?

How do you find a unique voice in an increasingly over-populated market?

Finding the project that makes you jump up and start writing, makes you tell everyone about what you’re doing and makes you passionate can take a long time. It’s only this year I feel like I’ve started a project that will truly inspire and motivate me for twelve whole months.

There’s also a host of inspiring bloggers online who motivate me. Each one adds something different to my reading list, and I wanted to share them with you.

Take a look at my list of stand out bloggers and ask yourself:

What’s their niche? Is their passion clearly defined?

How do they stand out? What makes them different from others in their field?

And most importantly…why do you think I’ve chosen them?

Every time you read something online, visit a website or find a new blogger, ask yourself those questions. Analysing how others carve out their unique niches will help you establish your own. Importantly, if you visit a new blogger and think they’re not unique, ask yourself why - it could help you avoid the same pitfalls.
